It is almost a year ago to the day that we began raiding as a guild. Burn Phase was a combination of roughly three groups of raiders. Some of the better raiders from Dyslexics Untie, One Percent and World Famous (Frostwolf) decided to come together to make a guild. Ultimately, I had raided or been acquainted with players from all three guilds and knew that if we could come together in our own run that we would achieve more than any of us could individually. During Cataclysm, we delivered on that aim. We peaked at realm third rank and have been competitive throughout most of this expansion. More importantly, we have all unquestionably enjoyed the time we’ve spent together. I know that my time in Burn Phase has been far more enjoyable than anything I have previously done in WoW.
However, over the last couple of months things have changed. Several of our original core have decided to move on to other pursuits and Arber (ironroots on Arber) was once again defeated by the lagmonster. Although we have picked up a couple of excellent applicants it was not enough to sustain us. We could probably recruit our way out of our situation but we have decided that this would defeat the purpose of raiding with a group of friends. So Burn Phase has called an end to raiding. We may return one day but for now raiding has been indefinitely suspended.
On a personal note, I am saddened that things have come to an end so abruptly. Nevertheless, I have enjoyed my time as GM of this guild it has been both enriching and rewarding and something that
I shall always remember. I know others intend to find new homes but I always knew that in terms of raiding this would most likely be the final guild that I would ever be in. So I have decided to end my days of full-time raiding.
I would like to thank all the raiders who stuck with us over the last year. You guys are some of the best players I have had the pleasure to raid with. It has been an honour and a privilege to serve as GM of this guild.
Burn Phase is over but with a bit of luck we may return one day in the future! In the meantime, we wish the best of luck to the other raiding guilds on Barthilas particularly our fellow Alliance 10 mans, Fast Res and Superstars.
We all leave with lasting memories (from Ruby Sanctum beams to the invisible Cho'gall), both comical and enjoyable, that will power us into the future. Best of luck to everyone.
